No they are not for sale here.





No you cannot import capybaras. There is no import import health standard for them.





Theoretically since they aren't on the list of specifically banned animals you could request that an IHS be developed but since there is no benefit to them being imported other than as a pet and the remote chance of meat or hide production plus the risk they pose if they are released into the environment there is zero chance of an IHS being developed, if they are even willing to review it.





Coypus, which are not the same as capybaras, are banned outright. Coypus are actually nutria, Myocastor coypus. Capybara are Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris.
We have chinchilla's here, that's about it. Used to be popular but rarely seen now.
We have capybaras at the zoo. :) A little too big for a pet to me.
