to kill humanely means,the animal does not suffer.
it means using a trap,that kills mice/rats right away,usually breaking the neck/spine.don't buy the glue-traps:animals get stuck in there and scream for hours!
i think the rat/mouse poison causes internal bleeding:hmmm,i think the animal suffers before it dies.
I believe they are brought down in temperature slowly until they freeze. It is said that this is humane. You would not be able to use poisons or gases because these would be past on to your pet through feeding.
Some kill through gas (CO2), some through blood letting, some through stunning (smushing the brain by wacking them on a wall). Most use CO2.
