Information On Hamsters And Other Small Rodents?

I want to get a hamster or other kind of rodent(AKA fuzz balls). I want to know the average price of different ones, and what they need to stay healthy and happy.Information On Hamsters And Other Small Rodents?
Hamsters are fun but they can have a temper, mainly due to poor eye sight. As long as you are gentle with him/her, they are wonderful pets that will last a few years. As for cost... in my area they go from $10 to $20, depending on the breed.

If you are looking for a fuzz ball that you can train and play with, I would suggest a rat. They don't like a long time, about the same as hamsters, but they are cleaner, smarter and trainable.

Good luck with your choice!Information On Hamsters And Other Small Rodents?
well u can go frum a mouse...no more than $5

to a chinchilla about $150

the higher priced ones tend to live longer. A chinchilla can live up to 20 years and has the softest fur in the world.

Rabbits are pretty kewlies. Rats are super sweet (trust me)

Guinea pigs are pretty kewl but really vocal.

mice and hamsters are pretty kewlies if you like them that small
Hamsters are really sweet animals.I used to have sixteen of them and I took a really good care of them. They need a big place to live and need to be cleaned regularly. You can feed them with special food for hamsters, or just give them fruits, bread and vegetables! They are really nice animals and play a lot, so they can be very nice to watch and enjoy!
Lots of pet stores are running specials on hamsters, free with purchase of cage, if you want to go that route. There's always plenty of rodents on petfinder.com.

If you want a really smart animal and are not repulsed by the idea of owning one, get a rat. They are more interactive than hamsters and most other rodents and when you really look at them, they're pretty. They come in all kinds of colors too. As far as the care goes, you better read up on that, there's lots of books out, and plenty of info on the net as well. If you have questions you can go to sites like practicalpetcare.com. Good luck.
I purchased a gerbil in a very small town in NY and it cost 5.99. She has lived for 4 years so far. Hamsters are usually more expensive.
