What materials are needed to build a wall maze for a science project for rodents?

I'd start with the foam boards used for display posters. The ones that have two sides of paper with a foam core. It is easy to cut with a utility knife and a straight-edge.

You should be able to use a hot-melt glue gun to mount the walls in place. Use pieces of wall at right angles (i.e. corners) to stiffen the maze. If the rodents want to climb over the wall, just lay a piece of plexiglas over the top. Although perhaps those should be displayed as the smartest rodents in the group.
