The electronic pest control devices that's supposed to repel rodents and roaches, do they really work well?

I am moving, and its near a place that might harbor rodents. I want to connect the divices and deter their entry into my new place before a problem starts. The electronic pest control devices that's supposed to repel rodents and roaches, do they really work well?
Yes they do. After hurricane Rita went through our area we were having roaches and mice in our garage and in the house. I trapped and sprayed and finally found a device at Lowes that worked on both rodants and roaches. It puts out a high pitched sound wave. We have not seen either in over a year,The electronic pest control devices that's supposed to repel rodents and roaches, do they really work well?
dont work once rodents get used to it.

get a cat
A local news station put the devices in a large clear plastic box with all the nasty critters. . .

They crawled all over, didn't seem to bother them in the least.

Rodents ? I suggest a good mouser cat , or for rats . . . dogs do well (but they must be outdoor animals, not the house fluffies)
