How do we get rid of rodents and a racoon?

My house has been invaded by a squirrel/rat. In addition, a racoon decided to move into my chimney. I hired a pest control company 5 weeks ago. No results yet. It seems that I have to tell them what to do and look for. In the meantime they have my money and I still have my unwanted roommates. Trapping is not working? Any suggestions?How do we get rid of rodents and a racoon?
Sprinkle hot Cayenne pepper in the places where the raccoon goes.You may have to do this very often for at least a few weeks. It helped get rid of the family of raccoons that lived under my deck.

Mix equal amounts chocolate drink mix powder with Plaster of Paris. Leave a pan out for them to find, with a pan of water next to it. They will gobble it up, then their little insides will turn to concrete. If you are lucky, they will go outside rather than doing their dying inside the walls. If you can get urine from a big cat (ask at the circus or zoo) that might drive them out of the house, but it might drive you out, too. Stick with the poison. Good luck!
COVER ALL GARAGE CANS. DO NOT FEED THEM. ALL CATS OR DOG FEED OUT OF LIMITS. THEY ARE SMART.
kill them...use rat poison...rat poison thins the blood to the point where their bodies can't use it...so it dies...plant it in food or something but be careful...if you have any other pets...dogs or cats make sure they don't eat it...cuz they'll die too if they eat it
