What is good for getting rid of rodents?

Just found out the home I recently purchased has a rodent probelm.What is good for getting rid of rodents?
Traps are best--mouse traps or rat traps. Bait them with peanut butter. You can also get glue traps or poison bait at most L%26amp;G centers but they aren't quite as humane.What is good for getting rid of rodents?
Outdoor cats. The ones I got even hunt the woods next door. I used to have birds nesting in the garage too, but not anymore. I don't have squirrels in the garden either.

We have the same problem here! We looked up a way to get rid of the rodents and we found using Peppermint Oil works great! If they are in your attic or through out your house take cotton balls and get some Peppermint oil. Get the cotton balls saturated with the oil and leave them all over the house! In the attic just toss the peppermint oiled cotton balls all over the attic as well. The rodents do not like the smell and will stay away!! We have had success with this method! And I enjoy the smell of peppermint!
