Our front porch is made of concrete. It seems that we usually have either skunks or possums burrowing under our porch all the time. Of course we dont want to hurt them but I am about to now. We tried everything from hot pepper powder, and chicken wire just to name a few. Can someone offer some advise before I kill these rodents or my porch sinks in? ThanksWhat is the best way to stop rodents from burrowing under a concrete porch?
the moth balls will work, it works for mice too. we had mice in our garage and a friend told me about the moth balls. we had tried everything else, she told me to smash the moth balls up and scatter around and they will stop coming in, it worked. of course, the moth balls don't smell great, but i would sooner put up with the smell than the critters. you can also buy granule form. i found mine at walmart. What is the best way to stop rodents from burrowing under a concrete porch?
Place a few ammonia soaked rags in and around the porch. You may have to do this for about a week. Pour some flour around the holes where they go in and out of. (this will show their footprints). Once the flour doesnt show prints, the critters should be gone.
Another solution, you can put a small radio and or a light bulb under the porch. Turn on the music and or light at night - they don't like loud sound or bright light.
What I would do is to dig a big hole and flood the underground. But thats just me. I'm not really sure what you should do.
Build a trap and trap the rodents. Then take them somewhere else and relocate them. Or you could just get some hillbillies to shoot them.
Try putting moth balls in each hole you find or you could just spread them all around the base of your porch. They don't like the smell.
Mothballs should work but the best solution is a spot light and a 22 rifle.
