Can rodents see in the dark like owls can?

And why do they come at night too, if owls are out at night? Wouldn't it be safer to be a daytime rodent, like a squirrel? Can rodents see in the dark like owls can?
While most rodents are nocturnal, there are many that are active in the day as well. Yes, rodents can see fairly well in the dark and so can owls. However, owls don't hunt by sight alone, they actually depend more on hearing to locate prey. Experiments have been done where owls were put in total and complete darkness and they were still able to find the prey item in the room with their hearing alone, not using any visual cues. An owls ears are located in different spots on the side of their head..one is usually higher than the other so that the owl can use their hearing from each ears location and then combine the sounds to pinpoint their prey. Also, some owls are day hunters as well, so really the rodents are not safe day or night.
